When language gets in the way
Poles are the largest immigrant group in Norway. Many work in construction, industry, warehousing, cleaning and agriculture – and not everyone understands Norwegian well enough to read HSE rules, instructions or messages from school.
A misunderstanding about safety can cost more than an entire translation.
Packages
Welcome Package for Polish employees
- Translation of up to 3,000 words (HSE rules, employee handbook, instructions)
- A dedicated Norwegian–Polish glossary for your company (up to 50 terms)
- 1 hour of on-site language support: we go through the key points with the Polish employees
- Free correction of errors reported within 14 days
More about this package
What is it? A ready-made package for companies hiring Polish employees. We translate the documents new employees need to understand – for example HSE rules, safety instructions, employee handbook and procedures – into Polish.
Glossary: We create a dedicated list of your company's key words and phrases in Norwegian and Polish, for example names of machines, protective equipment and tasks. It can be posted at the workplace and used by managers and employees alike.
On-site language support: We come to you for one hour and go through the translated material together with the Polish employees, in Polish, so they can ask questions. This is a walkthrough of the material, not interpreting.
Who it's for: companies hiring new Polish employees, or without any material in Polish yet.
Not included: text over 3,000 words (1.80 NOK per word extra) and certified translation.
HSE Norwegian (pilot)
- 4 × 90 minutes, group of 3–8 employees
- Words and phrases for safety and everyday work life
- Explanations in Polish – employees understand why
- A safe way to test the program before a longer course
More about this package
What is it? A short Norwegian course for Polish employees: four 90-minute sessions, online. Participants learn the words and phrases they need to work safely – protective equipment, warning signals, instructions, reporting deviations, and understanding their manager's instructions. Explanations are given in Polish, so they understand and remember.
Why a pilot? You can try the program on a small scale before committing to a longer course. If you move on to Norwegian at Work, we build directly on this.
Who it's for: groups of 3–8 employees, from beginner level.
Practical details: Sessions are held on Google Meet, ideally during working hours. Participants only need a computer or phone with audio.
Norwegian at Work
Outside Vestfold: by arrangement, travel costs and travel time billed separately.
- 12 × 90 minutes, group of 3–8 employees
- Placement test for every participant
- Material tailored to your industry
- Online or at your workplace
More about this package
What is it? A full Norwegian course for Polish employees: 12 sessions of 90 minutes. Before the start, each participant takes a short placement test, so we can tailor the course.
Content: The course is built around your industry and workplace – the words and situations employees actually encounter at work, conversations with colleagues and managers, phone calls, forms and safety.
Online or on-site: online on Google Meet (14,400 NOK) or at your workplace in Vestfold (16,200 NOK).
Who it's for: groups of 3–8 employees who want to communicate better in Norwegian in their daily work.
After the course: Each participant gets brief feedback on their level and what to work on next.

Questions and answers
Why not just use Google Translate or DeepL?
Machine translation is fast, but errors in HSE texts and instructions can be costly. If you already have a machine translation, we can quality-check it for 0.90 NOK per word.
Are you a certified translator?
No. We provide regular translation, which is what companies normally need for HSE, instructions and internal information. Certified translation is only required for certain official documents.
Do you offer interpreting?
No, we don't offer interpreting. Public bodies that need an interpreter can find qualified interpreters in the National Register of Interpreters (Nasjonalt tolkeregister). In the Welcome Package, we provide language support when going through translated material with employees.
How fast do you deliver?
Usually within 3–5 business days for jobs up to 3,000 words. Rush jobs (24–48 hours) by arrangement.
What about personal data and confidentiality?
We treat all material confidentially and use it only to carry out the job. We're happy to sign a data processing agreement. Documents are deleted no later than 12 months after delivery, or earlier on request.
Can you come to us?
Yes, in Vestfold. A course at your site costs 16,200 NOK for 12 sessions; the language support in the Welcome Package is included.
Can you come to us outside Vestfold?
Yes. We deliver translation and online courses across Norway. On-site jobs outside Vestfold are by arrangement – travel costs and travel time are billed separately and agreed in writing in the quote.
How do we pay?
Invoice with a 14-day payment term. Public bodies receive an EHF invoice.
Do public bodies need to run a tender?
Purchases under 500,000 NOK excluding VAT are exempt from public procurement rules, so schools and municipalities can normally order directly. If you have a framework agreement for translation, check that first.
