Terms of Sale

Last updated: November 2, 2026

These terms apply when purchasing lessons, translations and other services from LingoStudio Dabrowski. Consumers are additionally protected by Norwegian consumer law, including the Right of Withdrawal Act (angrerettloven). Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under mandatory law.

01 Seller

LingoStudio Dabrowski (enkeltpersonforetak – a sole proprietorship in Norway)
Org. no.: 938 578 958

02 Services and formation of the agreement

We offer language lessons, written translation, language support during appointments, help with paperwork in Norway (First steps in Norway), text editing and consulting. The agreement is formed when you place an order (by email, phone, Calendly or the form on the site) and we confirm it in writing, usually by email. The confirmation states the service, price and delivery date.

03 Prices and pricing

The price list at mylingostudio.com shows our standard prices. Prices are in Norwegian kroner (NOK) and include all costs unless otherwise agreed.

The price may be set individually, for example for larger orders, packages, or regular students. The price confirmed in writing before the service begins always applies. Before ordering you can ask for a written quote, and after the service is delivered you'll receive a detailed invoice.

The company is not registered in the Norwegian VAT register (Merverdiavgiftsregisteret), so we do not add VAT.

04 Payment

Payment is made against an invoice with a 14-day payment term. By default via bank transfer to the company account (with the invoice number in the payment reference), as well as via Vipps or cash against a receipt.

For exam packages (Norskprøve, Statsborgerprøve), the invoice has a 30-day payment term and is issued after the agreement is signed. Exception: the Norskprøve Group package – the invoice is only issued once the group is confirmed to start.

In the event of late payment, we may charge interest in accordance with the Norwegian Interest on Overdue Payments Act (forsinkelsesrenteloven) and a reminder fee under the Debt Collection Act (inkassoloven).

Regular students may be invoiced once a month in a combined invoice.

For translations and larger orders, we may require payment in full or in part in advance.

In the event of non-payment, we may suspend further lessons or delivery of the order until the outstanding amount is settled.

05 Lessons / consultations: cancellation and no-shows

These rules apply to both lessons and paid consultations.

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the appointment. Cancelling later than 24 hours before, or not showing up: a fee of 65% of the service price.

Free initial consultation (Calendly). The first consultation is free. Cancelling it later than 24 hours before the appointment, or not showing up without cancelling, costs 200 NOK.

If we cancel a lesson or consultation, we'll offer a new time or waive the fee.

For online lessons, you're responsible for your own internet connection and equipment. Technical problems on your end are treated as a lesson taken.

Either party may terminate a standing lesson agreement with 14 days' notice.

For students under 18, the agreement is made with a parent or guardian.

06 Teaching materials and results

Materials we prepare or provide are protected by copyright and are for your personal use only. They may not be copied, shared or resold without our written consent.

Lessons may not be recorded (audio or video) without the consent of both parties.

We commit to diligent and professional teaching, but we do not guarantee a specific result, such as passing the Norskprøve or Statsborgerprøve. The result also depends on your own effort.

07 Support Guarantee (exam packages)

The exam preparation packages for Norskprøve and Statsborgerprøve include a Support Guarantee.

Norskprøve package: to use the guarantee, you must attend all lessons (group option: at least 14 of 16), submit your homework, and sit the exam at the agreed level. If you still don't pass despite meeting these conditions, you get 4 extra lessons (60 min) free of charge before your next attempt.

Statsborgerprøve package: to use the guarantee, you must attend all 8 lessons and sit the test on the agreed date. If you still don't pass despite meeting these conditions, you get 2 extra lessons (60 min) free of charge before your next attempt.

The Support Guarantee does not limit the rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

08 Translations

Our translations are not certified (statsautorisert) and are not intended for official or legal use where a certified translator is required.

You're responsible for the submitted document being legible and complete.

The delivery date is agreed when ordering. We treat all content as confidential.

You're solely responsible for how the translation is used. We're not liable for errors resulting from an unclear, incomplete or incorrect source text.

If you cancel an order after work has started, you pay for the part already completed.

09 Support during appointments and consulting

Accompanying you to appointments and helping with paperwork (e.g. at public offices as part of "First steps in Norway") is informal language and organizational support, not interpreting, legal services, or advice from an officially approved advisor. We always provide this in person, alongside you — never on the basis of a power of attorney. We are not a qualified interpreter under the Norwegian Interpreters Act (tolkeloven), a lawyer, or an officially approved advisor. Public offices may be required to provide a qualified interpreter, and in that case you must request one. We are not responsible for decisions or outcomes in matters handled by public offices. You are solely responsible for information you provide to public offices.

10 Complaints

If you notice an error or defect in the service, report it within a reasonable time after noticing it, ideally within 14 days. We correct errors in translations and texts free of charge. If correction isn't possible, you may be entitled to a price reduction or to withdraw from the agreement under the general rules.

11 Right of withdrawal

If the agreement was concluded at a distance (internet, email, phone) or away from our premises, as a consumer you have 14 days to withdraw from the agreement from the day it was concluded (angrerettloven).

To withdraw, send us an unambiguous message before the deadline, e.g. an email. You can use the withdrawal form on the site, but this is not required.

If you expressly request that the service begin before the deadline and then withdraw, you pay for the part of the service performed up to that point.

If the service is fully performed before the deadline with your express consent, and you confirm that you know you'll lose the right of withdrawal, that right expires.

Any amounts owed are refunded no later than 14 days after we receive your message.

The right of withdrawal does not apply to agreements concluded in person at our premises.

After the agreement is concluded, you'll receive written confirmation (usually by email) with information about the right of withdrawal.

12 Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the price of the relevant order and does not cover indirect losses. This does not apply to damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence.

We are not liable for delay or non-performance due to circumstances beyond our control (force majeure), e.g. illness, power outages, or failures at our suppliers. We'll inform you as soon as possible and propose a new date.

These limitations do not affect the rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

13 Right to refuse or terminate an order

We may decline to accept an order we lack the competence or time for, or which is unlawful or against good practice. In the event of a material breach of the agreement, e.g. non-payment or harassment, we may terminate the agreement with written notice.

14 Personal data

We process personal data in accordance with our privacy policy available at mylingostudio.com.

15 Changes to the terms

We may change these terms. Changes apply to new agreements. Agreements already concluded are governed by the terms in force at the time they were concluded.

16 Disputes

Please contact us first, and we'll try to find an amicable solution. As a consumer, you can get advice from the Norwegian Consumer Council, Forbrukerrådet (forbrukerradet.no). The agreement is governed by Norwegian law. Disputes that cannot be resolved amicably are handled by the Conciliation Board (forliksrådet) and then by Vestfold tingrett, unless mandatory law gives you the right to sue us in your place of residence.
